Hit-heavy support announced for Gregory Porter’s massive South-West show

Supporting the acclaimed American jazz, blues and soul singer as part of the summer concert series Forest Live, will be English singer-songwriter, JP Cooper.

 

Gregory Porter and JP Cooper will play Westonbirt Arboretum on Thursday 4 July 2024.

 

Cooper is best known for featuring on Jonas Blue’s Platinum hit single ‘Perfect Strangers’ and has since released two albums and collaborated with the likes of Gabrielle Aplin, Craig David and Stefflon Don. He will be bringing his distinctive style of soul, alt-rock and tropical house to Westonbirt fresh from an extensive world tour.

Headliner Gregory Porter has made a name for himself in recent years as one of the UK’s top contemporary American jazz artists. Since his breakthrough almost a decade ago with ‘Liquid Spirit’, he has established himself as a beloved fixture of the British cultural firmament.

 

Porter is a star-studded addition to the Forest Live lineup, having won the ‘Best Jazz Vocal Album’ Grammys category for both Liquid Spirit (2014) and Take Me To The Alley (2017) and been nominated an astonishing seven times as well as amassing a cumulative 1.6 billion streams and counting.

 

Speaking about the announcement, supporting artist JP Cooper has said: “I’m so excited to have been asked to join Gregory Porter on a few of his outdoor UK performances this summer.

 

“My wife and I have been huge fans for a long while now so it’s an honour to be invited to perform with such an amazing artist. These shows are in such beautiful settings, what a way to spend a summer evening. I’m very grateful for opportunities like these. I’ll look forward to seeing you all there.”

 

JP Cooper is the final addition to Forest Live’s summer concert series at Westonbirt Arboretum. The star-studded programme also features headline performances from acclaimed pop star Anne-Marie, Irish folk-pop icons The Corrs, Northern Irish music icon Van Morrison and disco legends Nile Rodgers & CHIC.
