Wow, just wow - the children loved AirHop Bristol and being a stone's throw from Cribbs it's in a great location. This is the ultimate birthday party location for any child. It?s brilliant fun.

365Bristol sent our family reviewers to AirHop Bristol on the weekend - the world's largest trampoline park that is now open in Patchway, Bristol. Here's what they had to say :

Like most parents I have probably been to more ‘soft plays’ than I have slept in past 7.30am in the last 7 years. I do love a soft play, aside from the dummy it is one of the greatest inventions ever known; a chance to sit down, drink a coffee, have a Facebook stalk while your kids run around a padded cell for an hour or two. Your only job is to listen out for cries and determine if that was your child or not.

The reason for my off-piste introduction is because AirHop Bristol is the ultimate in ‘soft play’ entertainment. We were extremely lucky to have been invited to the grand opening of AirHop Bristol; my main flaw was telling the children the day before we went as they were all up at 6am asking if it was time to go. Could I quickly point out we can’t even get them up at 8am on a school day.

We arrived to a buzz of activity – cheerleaders, stilt walkers and “I said a boom boom boom – everybody say wayho” playing over the wireless. We were very politely greeted, given our AirHop socks, which looked fetching, and directed to the health and safety zone where we were briefly taught about the rules and regulations of what the Waiver describes as a potential life threatening activity!

We then entered the main arena, which I have been informed is the largest trampoline park in Europe. This didn’t disappoint at all – straight into a Total Wipe-out style ride which saw the participants duck then jump over the spinning cylinders trying to not get wiped out as the ride got quicker and quicker. This could be one of the highlights of not only my day but potentially my last 28 years on the planet as the eldest gets smashed into youngest who in turn takes out the Mrs – boom! It was golden, it was as influential as the collapse of the Berlin wall.

I was soon called out by the trouble and strife to have it out on the battle beams, we were both handed our joust sticks and the battle commenced, but like most activities we do together it only lasted seconds as she went crashing to the foam pit below, great fun! Less fun trying to get out; they had to throw me a rope and pull me like a whale stuck on dry land. Once the dust had settled, trampoline, basketball and dodge ball were the activities and may I say I was awesome at the latter holding no prisoners as I took out 4 year olds with blows to the legs.

There is so much to do at AirHop Bristol with activities that would keep all entertained from 4 year olds to 78 year olds - it was fantastic. The staff were brilliant, the facilities were exceptional. The real star of the show was a trampoline park that measured approx 100m by 50m full of trampolines of all shapes and sizes they even had them on the walls, the children were doing triple and quadruple backflips, vaulting the obstacles and I was getting told of for having my phone out, but the lady with the loud aggressive whistle was correct it was mentioned in our health and safety briefing but a video of your Mrs trying to be cool as she bounced across looking like she had consumed 4 vodka Redbulls seemed a worthwhile gamble. It’s ironic I was the one who got told off considering I spent a whole hour before arriving at the park warning the children of iPad bans and timeouts if the rules were not adhered too. My bad!

For the final activity the kids did a whole range of acrobatic stunts from a trampoline into a foam pit while the oldies went upstairs for a coffee and a chinwag (argument) this is where the park hits the right notes for a parent as there is an observation balcony overlooking the park where you can watch your children have bucket loads of fun while you can sit down and relax.

The children loved AirHop Bristol and being a stone’s throw from Cribbs it’s in a great location. This is the ultimate birthday party location for any child. It’s brilliant and I wish its staff and the owners every success as I am adamant they will smash it.

The missus has mentioned it may be worth selling sports bras at reception, however I don’t as it added to my experience. I leave you with a quote from the elder kids: “It’s well good innit! 11 out of 10” whilst the other said "Wow, just wow."
