Shadowing at The Watershed in Bristol

Shadowing at The Watershed in Bristol

Posted on: 09 Oct 2014

The winner of the Watershed’s Playable City Award – Shadowing is the new art installation that encourages you to get hands on with light and shadow in the streets of Bristol.

As the sun sets and the street lights come on, traces of those who’ve passed under the lights are played throughout the city, re-animating the streets. As you walk under the light, the shadow of the previous visitor walks beside. While you interact or react to the shadow, your movements and actions are recorded, becoming the shadow for the next visitor. If a visitor remains under the lamp, the lamp reaches further back in time, playing back the shadows of its previous visitors.

This interactive exhibition will run throughout October, coming to an end on the 31st. Why not leave your shadow for someone to find?

You can view the Shadowing map and trailer at the official website: www.shadowing.cc.
