Muppits Die Hard at The Wardrobe Theatre in Bristol

Posted on: 21 Dec 2014

A trail of sell-out successes by the Wardrobe Theatre in Bristol including Se7en Dwarfs and Oedipuss in Boots have led them to this year’s absurdly brilliant Christmas show, Muppits Die Hard.

This darkly comic, adult only, alternative Christmas show merges Jim Henson’s well-loved puppet cast with Empire Magazine’s greatest Christmas film of all time, Die Hard. The 1980’s blockbuster starring Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman has been cunningly and cleverly adapted to fit with the juxtaposed Muppets ending with a Christmas show that is a true antidote to all that sickeningly sweet entertainment.

It’s Christmas Eve and high above the city of LA, exceptional terrorist Hans Gruber has seized control of a 35-story skyscraper and is holding everyone inside hostage.  As this villainous German carries out his murderous plan of deceit, there’s one thing he didn’t count on - a mysterious party crasher, a fly in the ointment, a monkey in the wrench, a pain in the ass - the grizzled, street-wise, wise-cracking, New York cop John McClane who’s willing to battle against the odds single-handedly to rescue Miss Piggy and save Christmas.

The Wardrobe Theatre's Christmas show runs until the 17th January with tickets fixed at £5 for all. These can be bought online here.
