A Wilhelm Scream (AWS) will be performing at The Exchange in Bristol on the 23rd August.

The Massachusetts-based melodic hardcore band, A Wilhelm Scream, formed in 1999 in the throes of an American punk revival. Their name comes from the commonly (over)used sound effect in vintage horror films, but their act is no cliche. Sounding a little like Strung Out, Hot Water Music, Propagandhi, and Strike Anywhere, they combine the best loved elements from this burgeoning music scene and hit out with astounding raw power. Their often witty, deep lyrics are perfect bedfellows with the chunky guitar riffs and speed drumming of AWS.

Last time the band came to Bristol they also played The Exchange and our reviewer gave them 5/5:

“A Wilhelm Scream … kick[ed] off with Boat Builders from their most recent album, Partycrasher. Again, a hugely energetic and genuine performance featuring much pacing of the stage and masterful headbanging." For the full gig review with Gnarwolves Click Here.

Their unrelentingly energetic performances and winning melodies make this band an unmissable live act, and their presence at this year’s Hevy Fest proves just that.

Tickets are available from the Exchange Website for the show on the 23rd August.
