Hetty Feather at the Bristol Old Vic from 17-19 July 2015

Posted on: 06 Jul 2015

Jaqueline Wilson’s Hetty Feather is set to come to Bristol Old Vic from the 17th to the 19th of July 2015.

The book has frequently been commended and awarded five star reviews by almost every major newspaper in the UK. Jaqueline’s books are a staple part of any young British girl’s childhood, and are brimming with character from start to finish. This stage adaptation has been created by the writer of CBBC’s The Story of Tracy Beaker, Emma Reeves, a hugely successful program that has led to spin offs and a stage show. Bristol Old Vic’s much loved associate artist and director Sally Cookson was also instrumental in the creation of the production.

Roll up and join Hetty on her daring escape from Foundling Hospital, and faces the terrifying Matron Stinking Bottomly. Feel the thrill as she discovers the squirrel hours and Tanglefields Travelling Circus, enduring a whole night locked in an attic. Braving the streets of Victorian London, will Hetty ever find her real mother and a true family all of her own?

Benji Power provides a hearty original score, while circus skills and passion are integrated into this incredible play. Hetty Feather is a terrific Victorian adventure story from one of Britain’s best loved children’s authors, and is sure to be a hit with the whole family.

Tickets are available from the Bristol Old Vic Website.
