An evening of Burlesque in Bristol

For the first time ever, the biggest burlesque stars from around the world are set to star on the same Bristol Hippodrome stage this Friday, 28 August 2015.
An Evening of Burlesque unveils a brand-new, spectacular stage show for 2015, promising that Britain’s biggest burlesque production is “going global” for the new year. Among the array of international talent brought together for An Evening of Burlesque’s nationwide tour are the very best burlesque performers drawn from five continents of the world.
The themes run thick, fast and from equally far afield, according to show producer Michael Taylor, “For its fifth year an Evening of Burlesque goes international. The set list can include strutting Vegas showgirls in all their finery, a tutu too funny take on Russia’s Bolshoi Ballet, going nuts on Brazil’s Copacabana beach, a Roaring (with laughter) Twenties tribute to America’s Great Gatsby and international intrigue thanks to a James Bond finale, featuring a giant martini glass glamorously garnished by a splashing Bond Girl.”
Already Britain’s biggest burlesque extravaganza – a quarter of a million people have now seen this show – An Evening of Burlesque has spent the past two years touring the rest of the world, revealing the secrets of the art of burlesque to delighted audiences.
An Evening of Burlesque can star the following burlesque all-star performers:
Isabella Bliss – coming complete with her own giant martini glass, Isabella provides the most glamorous of garnishes. Guaranteed to leave you shaken, Isabella’s defies you not to be stirred by her performance
Amber Topaz – the leading lady, her powerful vocals and an uncompromising stage persona are the epitome of burlesque
The Folly Mixtures – a burlesque quartet choreographed to thrill, featuring a tasty assortment of lip-smacking routines with themes drawn from around the world
Miss Ooh La Lou – described as Police Academy dream babe, a bit Britney, a bit Goldie Hawn. Trained at Italia Conti, she has appeared in numerous West End musicals
Miss Felixy Splits – another product of Italia Conti, the all-singing, all-dancing performer is the ultimate cheesecake pin-up
Bettsie Bon Bon – described as akin to the star of an MGM movie classic, trained in hip hop and street dance, she’s sauce, tease, glamour and naughtiness personified
Ella Boo – butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-her mouth innocence, her balloon-popping act is steeped in her musical theatre roots. Trained at the London Studio Centre and a star of the famous Hurly Burly show. . .

“Throughout the world,” says show producer Michael Taylor, “at every venue, the fairer sex make up the majority of our audiences. Ladies just love dressing for the occasion.”
So much so, the production now offers a “burlesque-tastic” surprise prize for the best-dressed member of the audience on the night. The prize will be awarded by the show’s production manager.
“The show is an opportunity to forget about all your troubles for an evening and enjoy the thrills and spills of modern-day burlesque. Theatregoers completely immerse themselves in the evening’s entertainment.” Michael says, as performers look out from the stage the auditorium is aglitter with the most dazzling outfits. “As a consequence, the atmosphere at theatres is absolutely electric. We would like to reward the most glamorously-dressed person with a prize they’ll treasure forever.”
