Glastonbury Festival Tickets - What You Need To Know

Glastonbury Festival Tickets - What You Need To Know

Posted on: 28 Sep 2015

You all know what Glastonbury is, we don’t need to tell you much more about what it means to the South-West and the UK as a whole. What might be helpful is a quick word on how exactly you should navigate the minefield of stress and despair that is the ticket-buying process…

REGISTER BY 9am TOMORROW MORNING, TUESDAY 29th SEPTEMBER 2015, IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE FIRST WAVE OF TICKETS - CLICK HERE.

Glastonbury 2015

It’s that time of year again – the time when everybody weighs up the pros and cons of spending a few hundred quid to camp in a muddy field to see bands who haven’t been announced yet. That’s not really ‘the point’ though. The bands and artists are almost secondary to the fact. Going to Glastonbury is the whole ‘point’. A right of passage for many, a pilgrimage for some, but something mulled over by almost all of us. Yes, it’s not cheap. Yes, it’s probably going to be muddy. Yes, it WILL be a bit grim in parts. But come on…live a little?

So if you want to take the plunge and get yourself to the world’s biggest music festival, what do you need to know?

Registration

You need to register before you can buy tickets of any kind. You will need what is essentially a passport photo – a headshot. Just make like a terrible pop star a take a selfie. Done. Then upload it and fill out all the details right here

If you registered before 2010 you will need to register again. They have changed their photo recognition system but any registrations made after that are still valid. If that’s you then you will likely have already received an email from the organisers. It’s definitely worth checking yours though and you can do that here.

Glastonbury Festival 2015Fingers crossed for some decent weather in 2016?

Purchasing

Here’s the meat of the story – tickets go on sale for COACH AND TICKET PACKAGES from 7pm on Thursday 1st October here. Don’t get smart though- if you buy a coach & entry ticket then you absolutely have to be on the coach you selected. The tickets to the festival will be given out during the coach journey and photo ID will be required. Just a heads up.

The General Admission tickets go on sale at 9am on Sunday 4th October, again right here, and have no such restrictions but still require you to have registered with your picture as mentioned above.

For either of these two options you can book up to six tickets for £50 per person, though you must have the details, and picture of all six. For coach and event tickets it’s £50 plus the coach travel fee. The balance is then payable in early April 2016.

If you’re looking to book on-site accommodation, tipis, caravan or campervan spots then these will be available in October 2015, provided you have already purchased a ticket.

Here are the coach ticket prices:

Car Parking

Car parking tickets will only be available to General Admission ticket holders and only then once they have paid the balance of at least one of the tickets in their party by the April deadline. Parking for the duration of the festival costs £35.

Physical Tickets

All tickets will be posted to buyers at least 14 days before the event. Each ticket will have the photo of the attendee printed on the ticket so buying a few extra and sticking them on eBay would not only be poor form, it just won’t work. You don’t need ID, you just need to look like you. Pretty straightforward.

So here's your checklist: get your ducks in a row, get registered, get in front of a laptop and be ready to go ten minutes minutes before they go on sale...and cross everything you can. Best of luck, Bristol.
