Gloucester Road traders and community groups will bring their very best wares to the street in this family-friendly day that celebrates everything great about Bristol. Pavement art, pop-up gardens and face-painting are just some of the many, many activities and attractions on offer. Room 212, Paper Plane and Moodles will have free creative activities, Billie Jean and Bristol Vintage will return with clothes and cashmere while Odd Sox will hold a sale of kids’ shoes.

Bishop Road will be closed to traffic from Gloucester Road to Manor Road for the duration of the event. Here you will find events and attractions for the younger ones like face painting and a tea cup ride. At one end The Golden Lion will host live ,music and singing from community choirs and a preview from Mr Gotalot. One great feature that’s definitely worth your attention is the new 212 Eco House at, you guessed it, number 212 Gloucester Road.

Bristol's Jack in the Green welcomes the Summer each year in a lively procession through the city's streets, accompanied by musicians and dancers. He appears on only one day - the first Saturday in May, passing from the historic Harbourside up to Horfield Common. The timings aren’t quite set in stone due to the nature of the walk but you should expect him around 3:30pm before he continues on to his journey’s end.

If you are unfamiliar with the team Gloucester Road Central then think of it as the area from the old swimming baths up towards The Golden Lion on your left and The Anchor on your right. BS7 8NU would be a good postcode to use to get your bearings.
