WOMAD Festival announce full lineup for 2024

Under an hour’s drive from Bristol, WOMAD is one of the UK’s most eclectic and international festivals and they have today announced their full roster of musicians for 2024.

 

WOMAD is located at Charlton Park, Malmesbury and the festival runs from Thursday 25 and Sunday 28 July 2024.

 

With this year’s festival featuring exciting acts including Edinburgh hip hop outfit Young Fathers, evergreen gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, electronic favourite Alison Goldfrapp and a whole lot more, don’t miss out on tickets for this wonderfully vibrant four-day celebration.

Other headliners at this year’s festival are world-famous Malian husband and wife duo Amadou & Mariam, one of Southern Africa’s greatest hip hop heroes in Sampa the Great, Pulaar-speaking Senegalese luminary Baaba Maal and Thursday headliner, Sicily-born, Jamaica-residing reggae artist Alborosie.

 

Amongst the other high-profile names playing are Rio de Janeiro collective Bala Desejo, Palestinian hip hop crew DAM, iconic Hacienda staple DJ Paulette and an all-star Ghana special featuring Kwashibu Area Band, Pat Thomas, Charles Amoah and K.O.G.

 

Elsewhere, music fans can enjoy exciting sets from Ninja Tune signed DJ and producer Romare (live), Chennai-born, California-raised R&B explorer Sid Sriram and a very special show from 70s Zam-rock legends WITCH, bringing their potent psychedelic, bluesy rock to Wiltshire.

 

Moving down to the undercard, there will also be appearances from such favourites as Naples folk outfit Ars Nova Napoli, Moroccan all-woman band Asmâa Mamzaoui & Bnat Timbouktou, Marc Riley favourites Deerhoof, psych rock band Flamingods and Pakistani qawwali singer Zaiz Ali Faiz.

 

You will also be able to enjoy the delights of Norwegian five-piece Gangar, Manchester cult heroes Henge, modern cumbia experts Kumbia Boruka, sax-playing singer-songwriter Laura Misch, Portuguese fado player LINA_, superb kora player Seckou Keita & The Homeland Band and Tibetan great Yungchen Lhamo.
