Cressida Cowell, the multi-million-copy selling, award-winning author(and former Children’s Laureate) behind the How To Train Your Dragon books, is coming to Bristol’s Wardrobe Theatre next Tuesday.

Cressida Cowell: Dungeons and Magic is a talk coming the Wardrobe next week, and will see a talk by Cressida with writing and drawing tips, the launch of her new book, and signings.

Cowell is the creator of the How to Train Your Dragon; a 12-book series that has sold more than seven million copies around the world, but may be best known by its film adaptations by Dreamworks: How to Train Your Dragon (2010) and its sequels, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World – which was also followed by a TV series.

Cowell isn’t a one-trick dragon, however, and is also the author of The Wizard of Once series – a charming fantasy adventure series for children – and the award-winning picture book series Emily Brown. Cressida has won numerous prizes, in fact, including the Blue Peter Book Award, the Hay Festival Medal for Fiction and the Ruth Rendell Award for Championing Literacy. She’s been an ambassador for the National Literacy Trust for over a decade. Her events are energetic, inspiring and unmissable!

Now, you can benefit from all her wisdom and insight as she comes to the Wardrobe Theatre to give a talk on her inspirations, and to give both writing and drawing tips. Whether you’re an aspiring children’s author, or you have younger people in your life that might be inspired by a talk from the award-winning author, this is definitely worth a look.

Cowell will also be introducing her newest book – sci-fi adventure Which Way Round the Galaxy – with copies available for purchase. After the event, Cowell will sign all books purchased, all of which will come with a free sticker sheet thrown in.
